Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has praised the residents of Nyeri for their huge turnout during President William Ruto’s development visit to the Mount Kenya region.

In a statement on his official X account on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Sudi commended the people of Nyeri for prioritizing unity, hard work, and progress over divisions.

"I am truly inspired by the massive turnout and determination of the people of Nyeri. You have set aside petty divisions to focus on hard work and development," said the Ruto ally.

"While some engage in chaos and tribal rhetoric, you have chosen unity and progress. Asante sana, Nyeri."

On Tuesday, April 1, President William Ruto began his five-day development tour of the Mt. Kenya region in Laikipia County, setting the pace for his high-profile visit—the first in six months.

He launched the Last Mile Connectivity Programme, inaugurated the rehabilitated Ng’arachi Comprehensive School, and handed over a school bus to Dr. Wachira Secondary School in Kiamariga.

Additionally, he provided car wash machines to boda boda operators in the county to support their livelihoods.

During his stop in Nanyuki Town, Ruto engaged with residents and unveiled various development projects.

He also inspected the Ksh350 million Nanyuki Modern Market and toured the Nanyuki Affordable Housing Project.

His visit continued in Nyeri County, where he launched an Ksh850 million expansion of the Last Mile Connectivity Programme in Mwicwiri, aimed at bringing electricity to 10,000 households.
